Concert Logistics

Fellow Fiddlers:

Our fall concerts are only a few weeks away and we are sounding terrific!  Here are a few details that everyone should be aware of.  Thank you all for your commitment and cooperation.  We are looking forward to a wonderful concert series!

The expectation is that everyone will arrive at the times indicated, be seated, tuned and ready to play at the start of each concert.  In the event of an emergency - which occasionally does happen – please wait until a set is finished before joining the group.  It is disruptive and distracting to join the group while a set is being played.  Please be respectful of this request if you are unavoidably late.

The suggested arrival times are to allow time for parking, becoming familiar with the hall, setting up chairs and stands, tuning, etc.  There will also be a warm up and sound check before each concert.  

For those of you who may want a snack, lunch or dinner during this time, we suggest bringing something with you, as there is usually not enough time to go out for something to eat.

Saturday, October 20th at Crooker Theater, Brunswick High School – 7:30
Arrival time:  5:30

Sunday, October 21st at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School – 2:00
Arrival time:  12:00

Saturday, October 27th at McCormack Performing Arts Center, Gorham High School – 7:30
Arrival time:  5:30

Sunday, October 28th at Franco-American Heritage Center, Lewiston – 2:00
Arrival time:  12:00

Brunswick High School

From the North: Reminder: Gardner Exit I-95 is now I-295
From I-295, take Exit 31 A&B "Formerly 24 A".  Exit will make long, round turn, stay to right.  Go onto Rt. 196 to Topsham. You will go by the Topsham Fair Mall on right. Follow straight to Rt. 201
Take right onto Rt. 201 into Brunswick onto Maine Street. Follow Maine Street past Bowdoin College, until it forks right onto Maquoit Rd. Follow Maquoit Rd. for 1/2 mile. School is on right.  Follow signs to Crooker Theater.

From the South: Reminder: Scarborough Exit I-95 is now I-295
From I-295, take Exit 28 "Formerly Exit 22" for Brunswick (Coastal Route 1). At the third traffic light, go straight onto Pleasant Street into downtown Brunswick. After two more traffic lights, turn right onto Maine Street. Proceed straight on Maine Street, past Bowdoin College, for about two miles until it forks right onto Maquoit Road (small blue "High School" sign). Follow Maquoit Road for 1/2 mile, and the High School will be on the right.  Follow signs to Crooker Theater.

Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School – Rte. 26 in South Paris.  Route 26 begins in Gray Village, exit 63 off the turnpike.  The high school is at a major intersection, an enormous building on the right.  Take a right at the lights, the entrance to the parking lot is on the right. 

Gorham High School

From Portland/South Portland: Take 295 to Maine Mall Road.  Left on Maine Mall Road to 5th light, just pass Sam's Club.  Take a right onto Rt. 114, Gorham Road. Follow for 3-4 miles to traffic light at end (don't turn at either of two blinker lights).  At light, take a left onto Rt. 114 & 22.  You will pass O'Donal's nursery on your left.  Go about another mile and turn right at lights, again following 114 toward signs to Gorham.  Go about 2 miles on Rt. 114 until set of lights.  Take 2nd left onto Morrill Ave.  Take  your second right (you will see a gray granite sign indicating "Gorham High School" and the high school is on your left.  There is a large parking lot in the back.

From Portland/ Westbrook:  Take Rt.25 from Westbrook to center of Gorham.  GO to light in center of town with Amato's on left. Take a left and go by Baxter Library and Pine Crest Bed & Breakfast on right.  Take right on Morrill Ave. Take  your second right (you will see a gray granite sign indicating "Gorham High School" and the high school is on your left.  There is a large parking lot in the back.

From Sebago Lake Area:  Go to the light in the center of Gorham with Sierra's Mexican Restaurant on right.  Go straight through light and go by Baxter Library and Pine Crest B&B on right.  Take right onto Morrill Ave.  Take  your second right (you will see a gray granite sign indicating "Gorham High School" and the high school is on your left.  There is a large parking lot in the back.

From Standish:  Go to lights in center of Gorham with Gorham House of Pizza on right.  Go right and go by Baxter Library and Pine Crest B&B. on right.  Take right on Morrill Ave. Take  your second right (you will see a gray granite sign indicating "Gorham High School" and the high school is on your left.  There is a large parking lot in the back.

Franco-American Heritage Center – 46 Oxford St. Lewiston.  Exit turnpike at exit 80 (Lewiston) and follow route 196 (Lisbon Street) to Cedar Street which will be on your left approximately 2 miles from the turnpike (the Country Kitchen building will be on your right.)  At the 3rd stop light on Cedar Street, the center (a former church) is on your right.  Take a right onto Oxford Street.  The center will be on your right and the parking lot on your left.
